Unpeeled started as a passion project on the beaches of the Caribbean. While traveling, it became evident that getting bitten by no-see-ums (sand gnats) is a big problem for my wife. We are very committed to healthy living and do not find insect repellent with Deet a viable option for us. I began to do some research and talk to people who live in the Caribbean about how they handle this problem. In doing so, a natural botanical-based solution began to develop.
Upon returning home and delving into this natural solution, Unpeeled Insect Repellent was born. We, along with our friends and family, also started using it at home to prevent mosquito bites with amazing results. The lemon fresh scent of Unpeeled is much more pleasant than the chemical odors of insect repellents that use Deet and it does not leave you with a sticky, greasy feeling on your skin.
